Description
Start with hotel pickup in Bratislava and travel to the Small Carpathian Wine Region, situated on the southeastern slopes of the Small Carpathians. This area is one of eight official wine-producing regions in Slovakia.
Arrive at Red Stone Castle, notable for its extensive cellars originally used to store copper. Entry requires an additional fee. Next, explore Modra, the birthplace of Slovak national hero Ľudovít Štúr, who significantly contributed to Slovak language development and autonomy efforts. Discover his legacy while walking through Modra’s medieval center.
Proceed to Pezinok, the capital of Slovak wine production. Take a guided walking tour of its historic center and optionally visit the Majolica Pottery Factory, which also requires a separate entrance fee. Continue to the nearby town of Svätý Jur to explore its quaint streets.
Conclude the tour with a visit to a local vineyard, where you can observe traditional wine production methods free from additives. Enjoy a tasting of the estate’s fine wines accompanied by a small snack before returning to Bratislava around 6:00 PM.
