Description
Meet your guide near Ganymede’s Fountain, located in front of the historic Slovak National Theatre. Set off to explore the heart of the Old Town. As you stroll through the cobbled streets, hear fascinating details and stories along the way. Admire the Main Square with its Old Town Hall, followed by the Primate’s Palace, St. Michael’s Gate and the Corso, lined with the noble palaces of aristocrats. This street leads to St. Martin’s Cathedral, the former coronation church of kings and queens. Glimpse inside, or just have a short break to unwind!
Next, admire the historical Salvator Pharmacy, a true hidden gem, pass along the Plague Column and arrive at the lively promenade, where you will encounter famous characters from Hans Christian Andersen’s timeless stories. Here, we would like to treat you to a local specialty. However, what would be the surprise if we revealed what it is? So, we will only tell you to look forward to something typically Slovak that will surely sweeten your day, at least for a little while.
Here, where our journey began, we can say goodbye, or those interested can continue to visit the Blue Church, which is only a 10-minute walk away. This church is known as the jewel of Hungarian Art Nouveau and is connected to two famous Elisabeths. From here, you can walk to the EUROVEA waterfront, a lively area popular among locals, or return to the Old Town, with our friendly guide showing you both options. Feel free to ask any questions - our friendly Bratislava-born guide is here to help!
