Description
This activity offers a scenic treetop walk in Ždiar, a folk village near Slovakia’s northern border with Poland, ideal for nature enthusiasts.
After a 30 to 40-minute uphill walk, reach the wooden treetop path elevated 59 to 78 feet above the forest floor. The walkway, supported by large pillars, stretches around 2,000 feet through the tree crowns in Bachledova Valley.
From the path, enjoy panoramic views of the Tatra Mountains and Pieniny National Park. On clear days, the Three Crowns Massif, the highest peak in the Pieniny mountains, is visible in the distance.
Morskie Oko Lake, formed by glaciers and surrounded by some of the highest Tatra peaks, offers diverse wildlife and natural fish stocks. The hike to the lake covers about five miles and takes 2 to 2.5 hours each way along a paved, easy trail with scenic views.
After visiting the lake, return via the same route to the starting point.
