Bear watching tours in the Tatra Mountains offer a rare chance to see brown bears in their natural environment with an experienced local guide. With hundreds of bear encounters, the guide leads you to optimal spotting locations where the chance of seeing bears exceeds 95% during the season.
At around 13:00, meet the local wildlife expert at the Podbanske parking lot, where you will receive powerful binoculars. The hike then proceeds to one of three valleys known for frequent bear activity. Along the way, the guide points out bear trees and bear holes and stops at designated spotting points to observe bears safely from a distance.
Before returning from the observation, the guide provides practical training on how to behave during bear encounters and shares stories from personal close encounters with bears in the wild.
