Modra to Pezinok Hiking Adventure with Veľká Homoľa Lookout
Escape the city and enjoy a refreshing day in nature on this scenic hiking tour from Modra (Zochova chata) to Pezinok!
Our journey begins at Zochova chata, surrounded by the tranquil forests of the Little Carpathians. From there, we start our moderate hike along well-marked forest trails leading to the iconic Veľká Homoľa lookout tower — one of the highest and most breathtaking viewpoints in western Slovakia.
Climb to the top and take in the panoramic 360° views of the mountains, rolling hills, and vineyards. On a clear day, the horizon stretches all the way to the Austrian Alps — a perfect reward for your effort.
After enjoying the views, we continue our descent toward Pezinok, a charming wine town full of history and local culture. Here you’ll find elegant squares, cozy cafés, and boutique wine shops — a lovely contrast to the peaceful forests you just explored.
During your 3 hours of free time, you can visit the Pezinok Castle, stroll through the town center, or simply relax and enjoy a glass of local wine in one of its traditional cellars.
Later in the afternoon, we’ll gather for the return trip (or you can choose to stay longer and explore more at your own pace).
