Tour Description
Begin in Bratislava with an optional pickup in Vienna. This tour offers a 900-year journey through Austria’s history, from medieval legends to WWII secrets, ending among the vineyards of the Danube.
Your morning starts at Liechtenstein Castle, located on the edge of the Vienna Woods, where you can explore its historic halls. Next, descend into Seegrotte, the largest underground lake in Europe, once a secret Nazi jet plane factory. A boat ride here offers a unique perspective.
Travel to Melk Abbey, a Baroque architectural landmark and the country’s oldest monastery and school, situated high above the Danube River. Return towards Vienna through the Wachau Valley, stopping at vineyards, medieval villages, and Dürnstein, known for its blue monastery tower. Wine tasting is included at selected stops.
Before returning, visit Kreuzenstein Castle for a photo opportunity and Deutsch-Wagram, a site of historic battles against Napoleon. The day concludes with an optional dinner at Marchfelderhof Restaurant, known for its eclectic décor and traditional cuisine.
