Description

We will meet near Ganymede’s Fountain, located in front of the historic Slovak National Theatre, from where we will set off to explore the heart of the Old Town. As we stroll through the cobbled streets, our guide will share many fascinating details and stories along the way, so be prepared for plenty of surprises! We will first admire the Main Square with its Old Town Hall and Maximilian's Fountain, followed by the Primate’s Palace, St. Michael’s Gate, and the Corso, lined with the noble palaces of aristocrats. This street leads to St. Martin’s Cathedral, the former coronation church of Hungarian kings. Here, we will take a short break so that those interested can glimpse inside. We will then reach the Castle Stairs, which will take us all the way to Bratislava Castle. Along the way, we will admire the iconic UFO Bridge and the Slovak Parliament. We will stay on the castle grounds for about half an hour, during which we will enjoy views of three European countries, the inner courtyard, and the beautiful Baroque garden. From the garden, we will take in the picturesque Little Carpathians and the highest structure in the city – the Kamzik TV Tower. To explore even more, we will return to the Old Town via a different route. We will stop near St. Nicolas Church to greet the Witch, and we will explore the remains of the City’s fortifications, perfect for those with an adventurous spirit! Passing by the colourful Jewish Street, we will arrive at the lively, tree-lined promenade, where we will encounter famous characters from Hans Christian Andersen’s timeless stories. Before we say goodbye, we would like to treat you. However, what would be the surprise if we told you what it is? Therefore, we will only reveal that you can look forward to something typically Slovak that will surely sweeten your day, at least for a while.
