About me
My name is Štefan, I’m the founder of Bear Watching Slovakia. I love hiking in nature in a challenging environment and when a person becomes part of it. I have had hundreds bear encounters and I climbed almost all peaks in Tatras, totaling more than 300 summits, needle towers and mounds. For many years I have been mainly dedicated to watching bears, which I admire and respect at the same time, and above all I would like to convey beautiful experiences from their undisturbed observation. Encountering a bear in nature is a unique and enriching experience that goes beyond the thrill of the moment. Witnessing these remarkable creatures in their natural habitat can foster a deep and lasting connection to the environment, driving the motivation to protect and preserve the precious ecosystems they inhabit. In case of extremely low or high water level on the River Danube, the return to Budapest will be by bus as well.
