Turčianske Teplice is situated at 518 m (1,699.5 ft) altitude, at the headland of mountain range Veľká Fatra that together with Kremnica mountain range and hills of Lazy create beautiful surroundings of the city.
Due to favourable climatic conditions of surroundings of Turčianske Teplice, town used to be called 'Garden of Turiec'. The hottest month is July when is temperature about 18ºC (64.4ºF). The coldest month is January when temperature reaches -4ºC (24.8ºF).
