The town thanks to spa, excellent climate, clean air and natural beauties ideal place for rest, recreation and regeneration.

Turčianske Teplice is situated at 518 m (1,699.5 ft) altitude, at the headland of mountain range Veľká Fatra that together with Kremnica mountain range and hills of Lazy create beautiful surroundings of the city.

Due to favourable climatic conditions of surroundings of Turčianske Teplice, town used to be called 'Garden of Turiec'. The hottest month is July when is temperature about 18ºC (64.4ºF). The coldest month is January when temperature reaches -4ºC (24.8ºF).

Stay has medical indication as a curative stay for healing of wide range of diseases. It brings improvement of health condition, relief from pains, repeated stays – in combination with other form of healthcare could bring total recovery.

Thanks to unique composition of its mineral water is spa Turčianske Teplice the only spa in Slovakia for healing of kidneys and urinary tract. Except adults are since year 1993 clients of spa Turčianske Teplice also children.

Miracle healing of King Sigismund of Luxembourg

King Sigismund of Luxembourg took a bath in mineral water of Turiec with golden crown on his head. According to the legend combination of gold and healing water helped him to get rid rheumatism and thanks to such combination he lived to a ripe old age.

Also Venus from Murány owes her beauty to springs

Since 1535 thermal spa became property of free royal city of Kremnica, it was until year 1949. Importance of spa increased step by step. Spa became popular among nobility not only from Hungary but also from Poland, Austria and Transylvania.

One of the most important visitor was the king and emperor Maximilian I Habsburg and Count Ferenc Wesselényi de Hadad et Murány. The proof positive effect of water to women was beautiful countess Maria Széchy. For her extraordinary beauty, irresistible for men she was called Venus from Murány.
