Bear Watching Slovakia
Bear watching Slovakia offers guided Tours to see bears in their natural environment in High Tatras accompanied by a local wildlife expert.
The resort offers 9 ski slopes that are prepared daily throughout the winter season. LD Furkotka, at 1,825 m (5,988 ft) above sea level, is the highest ski slope from where ski fans can ski Furkotka, Furkotka odjazd, or Solisko which takes them right down to Štrbské Pleso. LD Solisko Expres is the second highest placed slope and is the neighbouring chairlift to LD Furkotka; however, its base station is Štrbské Pleso. This basically means skiers have unlimited possibilities to use the whole length of the hill in the resort. LD Solisko Expres also runs during the summer.
There are regularly groomed ski tracks at visitors' disposal. The overall length of ski slopes is 7,200 m (23,622 ft) which are covered by snow cannons for the entire length. Cross-country skiers have 16 km (10 mi) of cross-country tracks. Visitors will not want to miss out on the chance to try exciting nighttime skiing or get a breathtaking bird's eye view of the snow covered peaks from a paraglider. Snowboarders can rip on the superb snowpark found on the left side of the Interski slope. Here they can get huge air off big jumps, ride rails and clear other obstacles prepared for snowboard events and competitions.
