Manor House Galanta
Slovakia
It was built on older foundations in 1633 and rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1736.
Part of the manor is exploited by the town hall for representative events and the other part shelters exhibitions of the Museum of Homeland Studies.
Another, younger and bigger Neo-Gothic manor house (being reconstructed) is surrounded by the park with 30 species of exotic wood species and bulky specimens of oak tree.
The bust of composer Zoltán Kodály is placed in the park. Thanks to his musical composition Dances of Galanta, the town is also known abroad. The most important cultural events include the festival of ensembles Kodályove dni (Kodálys Days) held in May every year.
