Windmill in Holí?
Slovakia
This impressive stone three-storied building from the 1880's is situated in one of the westernmost towns of Slovakia - Holíč.
In the 19th century, the Dutch type of wind mills was constructed. The mill of Holíč is one of them. Its foundation was a brick building with circular ground plan. Its movable roof with wind wheel could be set according to the direction of wind. The mill of Holíč had such roof until 1926. The mill closed after the First World War. It was abandoned for some time until the local association of hunters had it reconstructed after 1970.
