The Andrej Kmet Museum focuses on research and documentation of nature of northwestern Slovakia, mainly the regions of Turiec, Orava, Kysuce and Liptov, as well as the history of the Slovak National Museum Society and its founding personalities, highlighting the personality of Andrej Kmet. It is located in the original building of the Slovak National Museum from 1908.
Permanent exhibitions:
Nature in the Turiec region - presented inorganic and organic nature of Turiec region and neighboring mountains as Velká and Malá Fatra, Kremnické vrchy and Žiar.
Kmetianum - oldest collection of Andrej Kmet from end of the 19th and begin the 20th century.
SERVICES
Lecture and guide services, sale of souvenirs, postcards and publications.
