A: Bryndza. Within the European Union it can only be produced in Slovakia and is distributed under the name Slovenská bryndza. It is soft, spreadable cheese made of non-pasterized sheep milk produced by grinding matured sheep lump cheese or by grinding mixture of sheep and cow lump cheese.

A: Bryndzové halušky. This traditional meal consists of dumplings made of potato dough mixed with a special kind of soft and salty sheep curd. The traditional beverage to accompany the meal is sour milk or whey.

My name is Štefan, I’m the founder of Bear Watching Slovakia. I love hiking in nature in a challenging environment and when a person becomes part of it. I have had hundreds bear encounters and I climbed almost all peaks in Tatras, totaling more than 300 summits, needle towers and mounds. For many years I have been mainly dedicated to watching bears, which I admire and respect at the same time, and above all I would like to convey beautiful experiences from their undisturbed observation.
